A Basement Beginning

Some businesses start with a storefront. Natty West started in a basement.

Years before it became the Onalaska shop people know today, Hannah and her mother were experimenting with candles in the basement of Hannah's childhood home. Those early candles eventually made their way to local farmers markets, where Natty West began finding its customers and building relationships with other makers.

By 2019, Natty West had officially become a business. A few years later came the first storefront.

But something from those early market days stayed with it. When Natty West moved into retail, the shelves weren't filled only with its own products. They became a place for goods from other local makers and small businesses too.
